North Houston Association 2006 Aerial Land Use Map Released

Official Map Roll-out Breakfast To Be Held on Tuesday, April 18, 2006

Houston , Texas (April 11, 2006)   The North Houston Association (NHA) is pleased to announce the publication of the North Houston Association 2006 Aerial Land Use Map.   The aerial map, NHA's most requested economic development tool and last issued in 1998, will be officially presented at a breakfast on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at Ashton Gardens .   Speakers at the breakfast will be:

•  Commissioner Jerry Eversole, Harris County Precinct 4

•  Mike Inselman with MetroStudy

To attend the breakfast, please contact the North Houston Association office at 281-875-0660.

The aerial map project was coordinated by the Resources Subcommittee under the NHA Development Trends Committee .   Keith Edwards, CCIM, Vice President of Land Division for Caldwell Watson Real Estate Group, serves as Chair of NHA's Development Trends Committee.    "As a land broker, NHA's land use map is a useful resource. I often refer to it when I'm working with a developer who is looking for land in a high growth area. By identifying school district lines, hospitals, and retail centers encompassing over 25 acres along with identifying every subdivision over 100 acres, developers can see where they should locate their next project."

Orval Rhoads, PE, NHA Resources Subcommittee Chair and president of CLR, Inc., an engineering, surveying, and GIS firm explains,   “This map is the most accurate and complete map of the north Houston area, based on the Geographic Information System (GIS) from the Harris County Appraisal District, Montgomery County officials review, and the criteria and reviews by NHA Resources Subcommittee members.   Our subcommittee members include area chambers of commerce, economic development groups, North Harris College GIS staff, developers, real estate groups, engineering firms who work with developers, and market research personnel.”

According to Paula Lenz, NHA Executive Director, “We are marketing this map not only to the Houston area but nationally as well.   This map offers an excellent tool for relocation firms to provide to clients who are interested in the north Houston area. “

The North Houston Association service area boundaries are:   the city of Conroe to the north, US290 to the west, Lake Houston to the east and Aldine Bender (FM 525) on the south. The aerial map displays a color-coded geographic profile of the north Houston area.   Specific areas of interest highlighted include colleges, hospitals, railroads, proposed Grand Parkway , freeway/tollways, major streets, airports, commercial areas, recreational areas, retail, subdivision and school district boundaries.

Map underwriters are The BETZ Companies, Brown & Gay Engineers, Inc., Caldwell Watson Real Estate Group, CenterPoint Energy, CLR, Inc., Dannenbaum Engineering Corporation, Hines, Houston Airport System, LJA Engineering & Surveying, Inc., Montgomery & Associates, North Harris Montgomery Community College District, North Harris County Regional Water Authority, OTHON, Inc., PATE Engineers, TCB, and Zarinkelk Engineering Services, Inc.    The map was created by Developro, Inc.
