Goals
1. Promote desirable Greens Bayou Corridor economic development.
2. Mitigate flooding and encourage compatible flood plain development.
3. Improve accessibility to and through the corridor and enhance vital regional transportation links.
4. Create a major linear park and trail system to interconnect and serve the Greens Bayou Corridor communities and improve the local environment and water quality.
5. Accommodate necessary local and regional utility services in an unobtrusive but cost-effective way.
6. Improve cooperation and teamwork among the key public and private stakeholders having interests within the Greens Bayou Corridor.
7. Secure more state and federal grants to supplement local public and private investments in Greens Bayou Corridor improvements.
8. Foster improved transportation links with the Houston Intercontinental Airport, including managed lane/toll facilities, and encourage/influence more compatible land uses in areas bordering the airport, especially along Greens Bayou.
9. Foster improved transportation links with the Port of Houston, including managed lane/toll facilities, and compatible port land uses and waterway improvements along the navigable portions of the Greens Bayou Lower Reach.
10. Integrate proposed METRO Solutions Plan high-capacity transit improvements and possible inter-city high-speed passenger rail services intersecting and paralleling the corridor with new improved cross-county transit services within the corridor.
