Earlier this year, on April 20th, 2024, the Houston Airport System hosted a community prevention initiative to raise awareness about human trafficking, emphasizing the importance of knowledge in rescuing victims and preventing future occurrences of this heinous crime. Through this initiative, a total of $40,000 was donate by several sponsors including AECOM, AtkinsRéalis, Burns Group Search (Burns-Magee), CLEAR Fronza & Francis, LLC, Halliburton, HNTB, Houston First Corporation,HPE Aruba Networking, Layer3, and NOV.

Recently, on September 18th, 2024 the Houston Airport Systems in partnership with the City of Houston, and the World Cup Committee presented Shield Bearer Counseling Centers and The Landing – Houston with $20,000 each to help each of the organizations continue the important work of supporting Human Trafficking survivors.
Additional partners to this intiative include: U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, City of Houston and the Mayor’s Office of Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence & Human Rights, North Houston Association, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)”
