Judge Lindsay is recognized as Bayou Land Conservancy’s 2019 Conservation Champion
For his leadership in the creation of the Spring Creek Greenway, former Harris County Judge, Jon Lindsay was awarded 2019 Conservation Champion at the Annual Land Lover Gala on Saturday, November 9th, 2019. During his tenure as Judge, Lindsay was instrumental in helping to create the Spring Creek Greenway. A greenway that upon its completion will be over 40 miles making it the longest connected and forested urban corridor in the nation. “Judge Lindsay was really ahead of his time in his efforts to preserve vital floodplain land and provide the community with the dual benefit of flood mitigation and outdoor recreation corridors”, said Jill Boullion, Executive Director of Bayou Land Conservancy. “He created a roadmap for similar efforts today, such as Bayou Greenways 2020.”
