City of Houston Council Member Carroll Robinson spoke on transportation issues and outlined his budget priorities at a North Houston Association breakfast held in late March at the Wyndham Greenspoint Hotel.
In a memo to Mayor Lee P. Brown, Robin son lists his number one budgetary priority as “no increases in property taxes or water and sewer fees.” He also wants to improve efficiencies in the Fire Department as well as provide necessary funding for more EMS and fire fighting personnel and equipment. Robinson stressed the importance of re structuring the city’s salary scale to be more competitive with the private sector.
Robinson is chairman of the city of Houston’s transportation, technology and infra structure committee. He is also a member of the city’s fiscal affairs and management initiatives, regional planning, legislative affairs and intergovernmental relations, international trade, and council governance committees. He is a member of the 200 1 Texas Department of Transportation Work Group on Transportation Goals and Objectives, and on the board of the Houston-Galveston Area Council.
