NHA has long been involved in advocating for flood control solutions and the funding needed to provide a way to make those projects a reality. Our community’s focus as of this year had been the COVID situation, but we can’t forget that hurricane season comes around every year, and flooding is still a very real threat to our economic success. We had an excellent panel and began with a Senate Bill 7 background from our moderator, Alia Vinson; then had a Harris County update by Harris County Flood Control District’s Russ Poppe and finally Jace Houston, with the San Jacinto River Authority, spoke about flood control work in Montgomery County.
