In April, State Representative Peggy Hamric, District 1’26, spoke to the Legislative Subcommittee members on legislative issues including air quality and redistricting. She believes a lot of what TNRCC is going to require for Houston will closely follow the Dallas SIP. That will probably involve cleaner gasoline and reduction of speed limits. The committee has decided to undertake a membership survey in order to determine future growth potential and direction of the Association and its programs. Regarding legislative issues, a position paper process has been established, and the Association’s legislative agenda for the upcoming session has been set. The Resource Subcommittee has secured sponsors of the NHA Fact Book, and the initial section, Population/Demographics, is being developed. Document format and design is currently being Finalized.
